Diesel Mechanic

GENERAL SUMMARY
The diesel mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all diesel power plants associated with central plant operations and fire suppression system.


FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsibilities include general power plant operations and maintenance, calibrations, light electrical, trouble shooting, monitoring plant readings, and preventative maintenance on diesel pumps and generators.
• Maintenance includes, but is not limited to, Replacing filters, changing fluids, maintain charging system, and perform teardown and rebuild of diesel engines in accordance with manufactures standards.
• Maintains inventory stock; responsible for systems being maintained at all times
• Responsible for scheduling preventive maintenance.
• Must maintain good house keeping standards
• All other duties as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: At least 5 years experience is required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals are required. This position also requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence is also required. The ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization is required as well.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required. This position also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: The position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. This position also requires the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must be able to obtain a Class “A” gaming license.
• Valid California Drivers License

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Good organization and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Efficient with Microsoft based programs
• Ability to work under stressful situations
• Mentally strong and able to cope with challenges
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals, procedures, government regulations, and blueprints
• Must be familiar with Veeder-Root monitoring system
