SQL Server Database Administrator
PeopleAnswers is a fast-paced and rapidly growing Dallas, TX based corporation with an immediate full-time position available for a Database Administrator. We are the leader in web-based behavioral assessments and are always expanding our product offering. We are seeking a competent Database Administrator to support our software development efforts. The right candidate will have proven success managing SQL Server databases and will thrive in an energetic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Include:
• Installation and configuration of SQL Server Database Software, Patches and client tools
• Ensuring and proactively monitoring availability and performance of the SQL Server databases
• Basic performance tuning; analyzing data and back end application logic.
• Back-up and recovery of SQL Server databases ensuring minimum downtime and 100% recoverability.
• Restore, recovery, and attaching of databases for creation to be used by development
• Implementing and supporting database security standards for both windows and SQL server
• Troubleshooting and problem solving support for database-related issues.
• Supporting formal database Change Management methodologies including coordination and testing of all database changes.
• Supporting and enhancing the existing Standards and Guidelines for database development
• Managing data integrity requirements to ensure data quality
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a DBA
• Knowledge of SQL Server Clustering, Log Shipping and Mirroring
• Basic understand of data cleansing, de-duplication and validation.
• Basic understanding of ETL and data movement
• Basic knowledge of Transactional SQL (T-SQL)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Detail orientation, organizational skills, and good verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
• "Can Do" attitude with entrepreneurial spirit
• Experience with Java, JSP, HTML, and Unix/Linux is a plus
• Experience with MySQL or other databases is a plus
