VP of Facilities & Engineering
GENERAL SUMMARY
This critical role provides strategic and operational leadership for all activities involved in planning, developing operating, and maintaining Pechanga Resort Casino’s (PRC) buildings and grounds. This position develops strategic Facilities and Engineering goals and transforms them into tactical plans, as well as provides leadership to ensure goals are attained. The Vice President of Facilities & Engineering interfaces with Operations, Architects, Contractors, PRC Construction, Project Managers, and PDC Board on all development projects in alignment with the mission and objectives of PRC, and in full accordance with all operational policies and procedures. FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by PRC. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develops and implements an effective strategy for growth and efficiency of operations in the resort and casino as it relates to the overall property. Formulates short and long-term facilities plans to support the organization’s mission, vision, and goals. • Responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of the Central Utility Plant, Co-Generation, Generators, Landscape, and Wastewater Treatment for the facility. • Directs the electrical and mechanical operation of the total resort, both interior and exterior. • Plans, directs, and evaluates all phases of property development and/or expansion, in accordance with PDC Board directives. • Interfaces with Architects and general contractors on issues related to past and future projects. • Maintains good working relations with contractors who will furnish immediate timely emergency service. • Ensures that quality services and controls conform to established property standards. • Oversees the administration and control of preventive maintenance programs. • Familiarizes self with all federal, state, and local laws, particularly as they pertain to the building, facilities, and environmental codes. • Directs the budget management and forecasting for the division and ensure accuracy, maximization, efficiency, and alignment with PRC and PDC goals. • Quickly assesses problems or situations and takes the proper corrective action without hesitation, and makes prompt and effective decisions. • Oversees the hiring, orientation, and training of all new Team Members within the Facilities Division. • Responsible for divisional retention strategies and development plans for key Team Members in the Facilities Division. • Follows up on work progress and completed work to validate completion, and ensures acceptance quality. • Spot checks compliance with preventive maintenance schedule requirements and evaluates the need for modifications to the preventive maintenance program and related training. • Ensures coordination of engineering work activities with those of other departments in order to minimize adverse impact. • Continuously determines opportunities for improving productivity from Team Members in terms of utilization, methods and performance. • Ensures operational features are performed in accordance with the design intent of the facility, with strict regard for safety and energy conservation. ACCOUNTABILITY: • Manages all Facilities & Engineering Team Members. ________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES ________________________________________ EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: • Minimum of (10) years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of an equivalent facility in the gaming and hospitality industry • Minimum of (5) years’ experience at a Vice-President level. • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in related field preferred. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: • Good organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class “A” gaming license • Must maintain a valid California driver’s license KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Knowledge of Central Utility Plant, Co-Generation, and Wastewater Treatment. • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suit, including Excel and Word; CAD experience preferred. • Ability to communicate with and provide leadership to all line-level Team Members and management staff. • Ability to prepare, understand, present, and analyze business strategies. • Advanced proficiency in budgeting, Profit & Loss, and business planning. • Proven managerial problem-solving and critical thinking skills. • Ability to exercise independent judgement. • Ability to identify and prioritize issues, delegating as appropriate to drive measurable results. • Must possess demonstrated leadership abilities, as well as organizational and strategic agility. • Demonstrated ability for people development and Team Member engagement by mentoring, motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, and holding Team Members accountable.
