DPS Communications Operator

GENERAL SUMMARY

The DPS Communications Operator maintains and repairs communication equipment.

FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT

All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of running cabling

• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally or through preparation of clear reports of any/all incidents reported

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of radio communications, including knowledge of County, State and Federal laws governing radio transmissions; dispatch operations, the principles of supervision and office management; computer information management; the functions, authority, and jurisdictional constraints
• Knowledge in internet protocol cameras installing, operating and maintaining
• Knowledge in Capacity Plus multi-site system
• Knowledge in the use of Eventide system
• Knowledge in computer-based software for programing radios
• Provide preventive maintenance on all DPS communications equipment
• Respond to calls for service and deploy the appropriate resources as required
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally or through preparation of clear reports of any/all incidents reported
• Inventory control of communications equipment
• Other duties as assigned


ACCOUNTABILITY: This position does not have any supervisory or managerial responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: At least 4 years of experience is required to successfully perform this job.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: this position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. This position also requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Furthermore, this position also requires the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This position also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. This position also requires the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must be able to obtain a Class “A” gaming license.
• California Drivers License

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Developed computer application skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
• Must maintain a friendly and professional attitude
• Must be detailed oriented
• Excellent verbal and written skills

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
