Slot Tech III

GENERAL SUMMARY
Slot Technician III is responsible for the advanced repair and maintenance of all electronic gaming machines (EGMs) under the direction of Slot Technical Supervisor. The Slot Technician III must strictly comply with all SOP and Technical MICS Standards for slot machine maintenance and repair; as well as meeting specific Slot Tech III testing and training goals prior to appointment. Additionally, all Techs must comply with all policies and procedures regarding State, Federal and Pechanga Gaming Commission requirements.


FOUR-DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four-Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino through the “Platinum Rule” (Treating people the way they want to be treated)..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide exceptional experiences to PRC team members, visitors, and guests through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Satisfactorily passes all testing and training required to advance to Slot Tech III.
• Handles floor repairs and proper preventative maintenance of all EGMs, including cleaning, overhauls, etc., in accordance with gaming regulations.
• Performs initial setup and overview of all EGMs and system options and settings.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot basic network and computer system.
• Proficient use in all technical verification hardware for progressive controllers, system hardware/software, and all approved regulated gaming devices.
• Assist Management in the breakdown, relocation, and setups EGMs and gaming bases.
• Assist in ensuring EGM integrity when requested for system, progressive, mechanical, and/or electronic errors are reported.
• Brings disputes and unusual guest activity to the attention of the Slot Technical Supervisor or above.
• Possess advanced knowledge of moving mechanical parts, EGMs, electronics, and electrical functions.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the use of test metering devices as well as use of all EGM test and troubleshooting equipment.
• Assists in instructing gaming technicians on the technical aspects of gaming device repair.
• Performs maintenance and repair functions to electrical/electronic faults on EGMs and system hardware up to the component level.
• Researches and diagnoses EGM malfunctions.
• Maintains current knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as property MICS, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrate an aptitude for basic math, electrical, mechanical and personal computer skills.
• To meet all other job responsibilities as assigned by PR&C slot management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: At least six months as a Slot Tech I or II at Pechanga or 90 day as a Slot Tech at Pechanga, plus two years of Slot Technical or equivalent technical, electronic or computer experience is required. In addition, a High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must be able to obtain a Class “A” gaming license.
Must attend on site training and classes required through Pechanga Learning & Development.
• Must attend & complete all departmental training classes.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Must have a basic understanding and basic skills in computer spreadsheets and word processing.
• Ability to perform RAM clears on all slot machines.
• Must understand and recognize problems with automated slot systems
• Follow all Slot Operations SOP’s, Polices and Procedures.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be able to stand, walk and move for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs in weight throughout shift.
• Previous electronic, computer and/or mechanical experience is mandatory.
• All candidates must be able to read and understand technical documents and apply technical skills.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Must be able to use a radio including the ability to wear an “in-ear” earpiece.
• Ability to work in a noisy and smoke filled environment typical of a casino floor.
• Must maintain Four Diamond appearance.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
