DPS EMT Supervisor

GENERAL SUMMARY
These duties involve responsibility for providing emergency medical services and supervising subordinate employees engaged in providing emergency medical services. Oversees and directs administrative, maintenance, and operations of Emergency Medical Technicians.


FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise EMT staff - Scheduling, supervising conduct of medical incidents and P&P compliance.
• Conduct QA / QI - Thoroughly review all medical incidents to provide topics for future training.
• Provide Staff Training - Using medical incident data provide learning experiences for staff.
• Provide Basic Life Support
• Provide First Aid - Conduct patient assessment, implement care, and give follow up instructions to patient as needed.
• Investigates/reviews routine occurrences and complaints and prepares reports for administrative personnel.
• Establishes training goals for department members designed to meet or exceed the minimum training requirements of the department.
• Maintain equipment and inventory levels.
• Re-stock First Aid kits and clean all equipment following appropriate disinfecting procedures.
• Replace / Remove sharps containers.
• Other duties assigned.



ACCOUNTABILITY: The EMT Supervisor has supervisory responsibilities including training, performance evaluations, hiring and making valuable recommendations for terminations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: At least 10 years experience is required/or 12 years preferred to successfully perform this job to include 4 years supervisory experience.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must be able to obtain a Class “A” gaming license.
• Valid National Registry Emergency Medical Technician card or State of California card
• Valid Health Care Provider CPR card.
• Valid California Driver License.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs.
• Physically able to lift, push/pull objects of significant weight.
• Must be detailed oriented.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be able to effectively command personnel and coordinate emergency incidents.
• Must be capable of interacting with the general public and team members in a highly professional manner.
• Possess great integrity, a team player, a supportive and effective listener who seeks to motivate, coach and mentor the team.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of EMS, technology and equipment; team building, time management, and supervision.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated and resourceful.
• Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast paced and culturally diverse casino environment.
• Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Possible exposure to potentially hazardous physical stress, adverse weather and hazardous substance is required.
