Valet Lead
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Valet Lead greets and welcomes all guests. Issues valet ticket while using guest name. Responsible for ensuring that preexisting damage has been marked on the valet ticket. Explains pick up and retrieval process to guest and provides directions. Ensure all work areas are clean, orderly and free of health and safety hazards. Ensure all Team Members adhere to Pechanga grooming and appearance standards. FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for ensuring that pre-existing damage has been marked on the valet ticket prior to the vehicles leaving the driveways. • Responsible for holding daily pre-shift meetings to the team. • Assist with guest luggage when necessary. • Issuing early outs. Observe business and regulate staffing levels accordingly. • Conduct spot checks of staff on regular basis to include, verbiage being used by the Team Member with the guest at check in/check out, and at the booth. • Conduct damage accuracy checks by inspecting a vehicle against damage noted on a ticket, as well as, checking that tickets are hung in the booth. • Will use and enforce that the team adheres to the 10/5 rule of greeting a guest at 10 feet with a nod and smile and using verbal greeting in addition at 5 feet. • Will ensure that fire lanes under the ports remain unimpeded by curbside traffic. Will approach all stationary vehicles in these locations to redirect. • Is responsible for parking between a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 30 vehicles per shift. • Effectively resolves problems for both internal and external guest. • Monitoring accuracy and timelines of vehicles retrievals. • Keeps immediate supervisor informed of all problems or unusual events and/or refers difficult situations to their attention for handling. Will also note such activity in daily shift report. • Responsible for staff productivity by ensuring posting of Team Members, sending Team Members to busier side whenever possible for short periods of time, and through enforcement of our “run fast – drive slow” policy. • Is knowledgeable and able to answer questions relating to the resort, outlets, and scheduled events. • Ensure that all billable services are properly reported. • Will count and sort valet tips at the end of the shift. • Ensure all Team Members on duty are in appropriate uniform, are well-groomed, and adhere to the Dress Code Standards of Pechanga Resort Casino • In the absence of management, the Valet Lead will oversee Team Member performance. • Responsible for Team Member’s adherence to departmental policies and procedures. • Responsible for adherence to our Four Diamond services standards. • Responsible for the adherence of Team Member service guarantees. • Other duties as assigned. ACCOUNTABILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Team Member is responsible for protecting the assets of PRC. ________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES ________________________________________ EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: A High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1-2 years of related experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred to successfully perform this job. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. This position also requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Furthermore, this position also requires the ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or Team Members of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This position also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. This position also requires the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a class “A” gaming license. • Valid Class “C” driver’s license. SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Ability to operate a standard transmission. • Must be willing to work any shift, weekends, holidays or other busy times. • Must be flexible with hours and/or shifts. • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English. • Ability to work in hot/cold/wet conditions. • Maintain favorable working relationships with all departments and Team Members. • Able to act independently while analyzing data and drawing conclusions from written and computer generated materials. • Ensures the front entrance is clean, organized and free of health and safety hazards. Reporting and unsafe equipment or unusual situation to immediate supervisor. • Provide instruction and guidance for guests/Team Members in fire or any other emergency situations.
