IT Development Product Owner
GENERAL SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Development Product Owner to join our IT Development team. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between the stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that the product vision aligns with the technical execution. The Product Owner will be responsible for managing the product backlog, defining user stories, and prioritizing tasks to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs. FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Build new applications from scratch and manage the maintenance/enhancement of existing applications. • Plan product development efforts and drive their execution. • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and ensure adherence to Agile principles. • Define product vision and roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders. • Deliver compelling user experiences and embrace end-to-end ownership. • Collaborate in a cross-functional environment including engineering, product, design, UI/UX, and business teams. • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing clear direction and feedback. • Maintain product ownership and accountability from initial sprint to product release using the Scrum framework. • Collaborate with stakeholders and end-users during product discovery meetings to identify and document requirements and specifications. • Address and resolve project issues, making necessary adjustments based on stakeholder feedback. • Translate product roadmap features into well-defined requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria. • Prioritize and maintain the backlog of features for current and upcoming sprints. • Provide forecasting and release planning information to stakeholders. • Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development and deployment. • Monitor product performance regularly and gather feedback to drive continuous improvement. • Create and provide training materials for end users. • Propose innovative features and improvements based on user feedback and market analysis. • Ensure thorough documentation of product features, requirements, and changes. • Mentor Scrum team members and foster professional growth. • Regular attendance at Scrum ceremonies and daily standups. • Other duties as assigned. ACCOUNTABILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Team Member is responsible for protecting the assets of PRC. QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) certification is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a related role. Prior experience as a Product Owner in a software development environment for web and mobile applications. Experience in Agile transformations and implementation of Agile principles and Scrum practices. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires an above average ability to read and comprehend simple, and increasingly complex instructions, short correspondence, memos and more. This position also requires the candidate to write concise and accurate correspondence to guests, while adhering to PRC brand standards. Must be able to express themselves and their thoughts and ideas clearly and professionally. Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other employees of the organization is required as well. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This position also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. This position also requires the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a class “A” gaming license. SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Strong technical background with proven work experience. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex product issues and identify solutions. • Excellent communication skills. • Strong ability to adapt to feedback and collaboration skills. • High attention to detail and a deep understanding of its impact on product quality and usability. • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence or equivalent solutions. • Deep passion for building software and mobile app solutions. • Understanding of the software development life cycle. • Experience with user research and usability testing to ensure the product meets user needs.
