Maintenance Kitchen Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Maintenance Kitchen Engineer is responsible for kitchen equipment on an assigned shift and its repair throughout the resort in accordance with the standards of Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC).

FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by PRC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Completes timely repairs on all domestic, commercial and industrial kitchen equipment.
• Keeps machinery operating in a safe, efficient manner, acceptable with all health codes
• Performs electrical troubleshooting on all mechanical equipment as required
• Repairs or replaces all electrical motor failures
• Relocates existing equipment when requested
• Maintains an adequate supply of materials needed for the efficient performance of assigned jobs
• Has a working knowledge of plumbing standards and codes that apply to casino resort kitchen systems
• Meets with the Maintenance Engineer/Kitchen Supervisor on a regular basis to ensure integrity of existing kitchen systems
• Other duties as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Team Member will protect the assets of PRC.

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: A High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; with 5 years’ experience in construction and appliance repair or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: The position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The position also requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or Team Members of the organization is required as well.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: The position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The position also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: The position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The position also requires the ability to work with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must qualify to obtain and maintain a class “A” gaming license.
• Valid California Driver’s License.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Good organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work under stressful situations.
• Must be qualified to work with gas and steam.
• Must be able to work with all trades within the Facilities Division.
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated and resourceful.
• Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast paced and culturally diverse casino environment.
• Must be able to take direction and follow through with assigned tasks.
• Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
