DPS Bike Patrol Officer-Armed
GENERAL SUMMARY
The DPS Bike Patrol Officer is responsible for safeguarding Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC) assets and its guests, patrons, and Team Members. Also responsible for enforcing rules and regulations in accordance with set PRC policies and procedures along with local, state, and federal laws. FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by PRC. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure a safe environment at all times at PRC. • Ensure all policies, rules, regulations, and laws as it pertains to PRC are followed and upheld. • Responsible for external areas of PRC to include parking structures, RV Resort, golf course, and Gas Station. • Enforce gaming regulations in accordance with the internal control policy. • Enforce traffic regulations, vehicle codes, and penal codes. • Work as an armed public safety officer. • Respond to and assist on traffic accidents. • Maintain positive communications and relations with all persons. • Observe and report unusual/unsafe conditions. • Prevention of crime and disorderly conduct. • Provide assistance to patrons and Team Members as needed. • Preparing written statements and reports. • Respond to calls for service as required. • Work closely with tribal rangers and outside law enforcement agencies. • Will protect the assets of PRC. • Other duties as assigned. ACCOUNTALIBITY: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. The Team Member is responsible for protecting the assets of PRC. ________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES ________________________________________ EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. Minimum 6 months’ experience as a DPS Officer at PRC. At least 1-year relative experience in Military, Public Safety or Law Enforcement is required to successfully perform this job; or equivalent combination of education and experience. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. This position also requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Furthermore, this position also requires the ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or Team Members of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This position also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. This position also requires the ability to work with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES: • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a class “A” gaming license. • Weapons Permit, CA Baton permit, Pepper Spray permit. • Title 31. • Responsible Beverage Service. • CA Guard Card. • PC 832. • Driver’s License. SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Basic Knowledge of Computers (Microsoft Office Applications). • Basic Typing Skills. • Knowledge of radio communications and ability to speak clearly on a radio. • Able to work under extreme weather conditions sometimes on bicycle. • Must be outgoing, energetic and capable of interacting with the general public in a highly professional manner. • Ability to work in a stressful environment. • Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays. • Must have own duty gear. • Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast paced and culturally diverse casino environment. • Must be able to take direction and follow through with assigned tasks. • Must be able to work in all type of weather, to include extreme hot or cold, dry, rainy, and windy.
