Account Executive, Special Markets The Account Executive, Special Markets is responsible for the development of Special Market Customers for Motel 6 for the purpose of increasing room sales, revenue and profitability. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • 3 years of experience in hotel or Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) sales • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Highly developed organizational and time management skills • Competent using Microsoft Office products • Experience with contact management software such as Goldmine, ACT, Delphi, or similar • Previous home based / remote office position experience • Office from home – working 8:30am – 5:30pm schedule • 75% In Office – Prospecting, Account Maintenance, Research, Planning, Reports • 25% Out of Office – Trade Shows, Sales Trips and Sales Calls • 20% overnight travel (subject to change) including some weekends • Minimal outside sales calls, local, regional or national basis • Must be licensed driver with ability to qualify for company credit card ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Primary Duties & Responsibilities: – Prepare and execute a Quarterly Sales Plan for the assigned market segments in coordination with supervisor – Achieve room sales and revenue goals quarterly for new business and for the growth of existing accounts – Manage of all account set ups, maintenance, cancellations and renewals – Make telemarketing and face to face sales calls on current and potential clients within the assigned market segments – Prepare and present sales proposals to prospective customers – Negotiate rates, terms and conditions and close deals – Thoroughly qualify an account’s potential for Motel 6 properties and the brand – Communicate all sales activities and results to supervisor via the established reporting system – Enter all client information and sales activities performed into the Goldmine sales database, required per Goldmine Standards – Maintain accurate and complete records in the Goldmine database per required Goldmine Standards – Submit accurate quarterly sales production reports – Attend sales meetings, trade shows, industry and client events as required – All other duties as needed or required Job Requirements: – Daily sales calls via phone to clients and prospective clients – Market research and prospecting daily/weekly – Brand presentations as needed/required to prospects/customers – Collaboration with Pricing Department on rates, terms, inventory, etc. – Prepare reports using Microsoft Excel – Maintain database, customer records and record all sales activity per required Goldmine Standards – Professional upbeat attitude and drive to achieve assigned quarterly goals The individual occupying this position must be able to perform essential job functions set forth below with or without reasonable accommodation.
