• Must be licensed by the appropriate state licensing/regulatory board to perform hair services such as washing, cutting, and applying chemicals.
• Must be able to effectively exchange information with Clients/staff members.
• Must have knowledge of hair care products such as shampoos, chemical treatments, styling treatments and conditioners.
• Must possess visual capabilities to distinguish between colors, read, and identify products.
• Must be able to exert enough force frequently or constantly to push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
• Must be able to walk, stand and maintain balance for sustained periods of time while stooping, reaching, grasping and performing repetitive arm, hand, wrist, and fingering motions.
• Must be able to tolerate exposure to chemicals, fumes, or other salon conditions that may affect the respiratory system/skin.
• Must be able to perceive attributes of objects such as texture and temperature.
• Must be able to operate/use properly the following equipment:
-Combs
-Stylist scissors
-Perm Rods
-Stylist brushes
-Electric curlers
-Curling irons/brushes
-Hair/Blow dryers/diffusers
-Clippers
-Razors
-Timers
-Computers/cash register/keyboard
• Must possess basic math skills to perform such activities as count inventories, calculating charges, etc.
• Must have excellent human relations skills.
• Must be able to work forty (40) hours per week, two (2) nights per week and one (1) day on weekends, typically Sunday.
