Infor Retail is looking for Software Reliability & Support Engineers, in order to provide high quality technical and development support for the Infor Retail suite of applications worldwide.
Support Responsibilities
• Be responsible for uptime, quality of service and participate in 24x7 on call rotation as first line of defense (minimally, once per month) for Infor Retail production products
• Serve as primary point responsible for the overall health and performance, including optimization, stability and capacity, issue prevention, troubleshooting, debugging of production products
• Develop features for new generations of products, as well as supporting existing products
• Track and document standard operating procedures (SOP) identified during issue investigation and
resolution. Create and maintain clearly written technical, user, and system documentation
• Assist in the rollout and deployment of new products and/or feature enhancements to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant growth. Prepare and test deployment packages for release to
production as both ad hoc and quarterly bug fix and upgrade releases
• Gain deep knowledge of our complex product suites and perform in-depth backend
troubleshooting
• Whilst building ongoing relationships with our client base, effectively investigate, fix, and patch
client technical and retail business functionality usage issues/questions in Infor Retail production applications, including root cause identification and mitigation strategy development and implementation to prevent recurrence
• While meeting SLA requirements, facilitate the resolution of highly complex issues that may require the involvement of multiple teams and roles
Development and Automation Responsibilities
• You will play a key role in all aspects of product development cycle: design, development, implementation, support and evolution of our products; interacting as part of multiple development teams to find solutions for customers and be embedded with development teams to participate in and influence development efforts associated with operability, stability and scalability for projects, working effectively with project teams, operations team members and clients through the project lifecycle
• Drive standardization efforts across multiple disciplines and services
• Develop and maintain tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy, scale and effectively monitor
custom applications in a large-scale cloud-based environment.
Education/Technical Skills
• B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other software engineering discipline
• Proven understanding of software systems design
• Knowledge of data structures, relational and non-relational databases, networking, Linux internals,
filesystems, web architecture and related topics
• Commercial programming experience and proficiency with enterprise, web-based software technologies
• Strong experience in system administration, troubleshooting software integration issues in Linux environments
• Experience/education with various scripting and programming languages such as Python and/or Bash
• Experience with CSS-Frontend, Web Services, REST, SOA, HTML5, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery a plus
Personal Attributes/Soft Skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, English; Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals and translate when needed
• Strong seasoning in critical incident triage and response; Excellent analytical, problem solving and debugging skills; Troubleshooting skills that span systems, including application’s proprietary coding language
• Organization and multitasking skills are critical; Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision, take initiative, set priorities, follow through and see tasks through to completion
• Experience and proven effectiveness in providing application support in a 24x7 environment
• Ability to absorb new implementations, techniques, technology and other information
quickly; Ability to work in agile development methodology
• Experience and understanding of retail operations domain, including planning, forecasting and supply chain is a plus.
• Fluent written and spoken in German and English is mandatory
